In Zambia to supporting small-scale farmers extends across all districts from Lusaka to the Southern Province and the Eastern Province. We provide farmers with local technical assistance. As part of the Agriculture year, we provided input loans to women and farmers and trained them in Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA).
Parrogate collaborates with these farmers to transform current farming systems, focusing on: We’re formalizing farmer groups, training in GAP with crop rotation, offering extension support, and providing competitive markets for soybeans, cotton, sunflower, and sunflower cake.
As the Parrogate Group, sustainability lies at the heart of our mission. We have begun transitioning our operations to renewable energy. We have invested in clean power mainly through solar, and a considerable portion of the energy we consume is generated sustainably. We continue to explore green initiatives to ensure we minimise our carbon footprint and contribute meaningfully to a green energy future.
In Malawi, where women make up over half of the agricultural workforce and earn significantly less than men,Our projects such as the One Acre Fund model, at least 7,500 female farmers gain equal access to support services. The project also focuses on improving soil health for all farmers, especially aiding the most disadvantaged, while supporting youth empowerment through partnerships with agriculture students.
We are committed to advancing healthcare in Chegutu, Zimbabwe by constructing a full-service hospital. With 40 beds and specialized functions, including a 24-hour emergency section, ICU, Pathology, Sonography, X-ray, Dialysis, Operation Theaters, and Ambulance Services. The hospital will operate on a non-profit basis for all.
In our fourth year, Parrogate proudly sponsors two students annually with full scholarships for Master’s programs at the Indian Institute of Technology. Additionally, our ownership of a primary school with over 1000 students drives our commitment to quality education.
Parrogate actively supports several charity organizations, providing essential cooking oil and soaps to children’s and old age homes. Our partnership with the Rhona Foundation focuses on aiding underprivileged and young pregnant women, embodying our dedication to social responsibility.
In zimbabwe we collaborate with the Ministry of Youth, Arts, and Recreation, Parrogate champions empowerment seminars that equip women with income-generating skills. Furthermore, we contribute to the country’s Breast Cancer awareness campaigns through sponsorship of various programs, emphasizing our commitment to women’s well-being.
